	Land due north of Hong Kong island, ceded to the UK in two later treaties (1858 and 1898 respectively) until reunification with the PRC on 1 July 1997. Leasehold interests in these areas have different characteristics to those in Hong Kong island, particularly regarding title matters and the historical renewal and extension of lease tenures.
