	Enhanced Design and Build
	DESCRIPTION
	Enhanced design and build is a variant of the design and build procurement model whereby a client prepares a functional specification utilising its own team of consultants, rather than leaving the design in the hands of the design and build contractor. Once the design has been completed, a contractor will employ its own team of design consultants to complete the project. Normally, 'enhanced' design and build will be suitable for projects where: (a) overall project delivery time is to be accelerated; and (b) a client requires a greater degree of design control over the finished output. Examples of where the 'enhanced' design and build model has been adopted in Hong Kong include the North District Hospital and the Tseung Kwan O Hospital.
