	DESCRIPTION
	Charged with spearheading the development of the construction industry in Hong Kong, the Construction Industry Council Ordinance (Cap 587) came into effect on 1 February 2007. It established the CIC, which has broad powers to make recommendations to the Government on major policy and strategic matters that may impact the construction industry, and to impose a construction industry levy.
