GLOSSARY TERM
  Arbitration Ordinance (Cap 341)

  DESCRIPTION
This Ordinance governs all forms of arbitration in Hong Kong. There are separate rules for international and domestic arbitrations – international arbitrations are governed by the UNCITRAL Model Law; domestic arbitrations are regulated by a regime derived from English law.

In 2007, the Hong Kong Department of Justice released a consultation paper and draft Arbitration Bill to reform Hong Kong's arbitration law. One major change proposed is the abolition of the separate rules in favour of a unified regime based on the UNCITRAL Model Law.
